New resource available for kids with concussion

The COCO knowledge mobilization program has created a new online resource for parents, child care workers and teachers, and health care professionals to learn more about concussions in children under 8-years-old.

“Concussions have no boundaries. They can occur at any stage of life, even in young children,” the website says.

The resource has common signs and symptoms, a concussion detection tool, and information on recovery among young children. Information is available in English and French.

Also available is REACTIONS-48, a screening tool that documents 16 cognitive, physical, and behavioural post-concussive symptoms following a traumatic brain injury in children 8-years-old and younger.

COCO is a project of the ABCs Laboratory at the University of Montreal.
