September 25 is Rowan’s Law Day, a day dedicated to increasing concussion awareness and education. Rowan’s Law is named after Rowan Stringer, a teenager who died in 2013 from unreported head injuries she sustained from playing rugby.
In June 2019 the Government of Ontario released a video describing “Hit-Stop-Sit,” referring to the practice of removing an individual from play or activity after a potential concussion-causing incident (now unavailable).
